Description
Delicious chocolate-covered banana bites that are perfect for a healthy snack or dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2–3 ripe bananas
- 1 cup yogurt (I used coconut yogurt)
- 1–2 scoops vanilla protein powder
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips (6oz)
- 1 Tbsp coconut oil (optional for thinning the chocolate)
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, set aside.
- Peel bananas and cut into 1 inch slices.
- In a small bowl, mix together the yogurt and protein powder.
- Grab the banana slices and dip them, one at a time into the yogurt mixture. Then place them on the lined baking sheet.
- Once all of the banana slices have been coated, place them in the freezer for at least one hour to set.
- Once frozen, melt the dark chocolate and coconut oil. You can melt them in the microwave at 20 second intervals, or on the stovetop at low heat.
- Grab the banana bites from the freezer and dip them into the melted chocolate. Place them back on the lined baking sheet and top them with your choice of toppings before the chocolate has set. Some fun toppings include: bee pollen, flaked salt, cinnamon, sprinkles or chopped nuts/seeds.
Notes
- This recipe is great for a healthy treat.
- You can substitute the yogurt with your favorite yogurt type.
- Experiment with different toppings to customize your banana bites.
