Description
This easy sheet pan pizza dough recipe is perfect for a quick and delicious pizza night.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar (honey also works)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Extra olive oil for greasing the pan
- Optional toppings: pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, pepperoni or vegetables, Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Activate the yeast – Add warm water, sugar, and yeast to a bowl. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy. This step helps the dough rise properly.
- Mix the dough – Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the bowl. Mix until a soft dough forms. If the dough feels sticky, sprinkle a little extra flour.
- Knead briefly – Place the dough on a lightly floured surface and knead for about 4 to 5 minutes. The dough should become smooth and slightly elastic.
- Let the dough rest – Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover with a towel. Let it rest for 15 to 20 minutes. This helps the dough relax and become easier to spread.
- Prepare the pan – Grease a skillet or sheet pan with olive oil. Place the dough in the pan and gently stretch it to the edges with your hands.
- Add toppings – Spread pizza sauce over the dough, then add cheese and your favorite toppings.
- Bake – Bake at 425°F (220°C) for about 18 to 20 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
Notes
- Make sure the water is warm but not too hot to avoid killing the yeast.
- You can customize the toppings based on your preference.
- This dough freezes well for future use.
