Description

These Cajun chicken wings are perfectly seasoned and baked or air-fried to crispy perfection.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken wings (I used split/party wings)
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon red cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground oregano
  • salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Pat the chicken dry and place it in a large bowl or plastic bag. Season the chicken wings with the Cajun rub seasoning, ensuring they are fully coated.
  3. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper and add the wings to the pan.
  4. Bake for 20 minutes and then flip the wings.
  5. Bake for an additional 15-25 minutes until the chicken has reached an internal temperature of 165 degrees. Use a meat thermometer.
  6. If using an air fryer, spray the basket with cooking oil to prevent sticking. Add the chicken to the air fryer basket.
  7. Air fry for 15 minutes at 400 degrees.
  8. Open the air fryer and flip the chicken. Cook for an additional 5-10 minutes, ensuring it has reached an internal temperature of 165 degrees.

Notes

  • Regular paprika can be used as a substitute for smoked paprika.
  • Add more cayenne pepper for additional heat if desired.
  • Always check the internal temperature of the chicken to ensure it is fully cooked.
