Description

A quick and delicious stir-fry recipe featuring tender chicken and crisp broccoli in a savory sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 chicken breast, thinly sliced
  • 1 broccoli crown, cut into florets
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Chicken: In a small bowl, toss the sliced chicken with soy sauce, cornstarch, and a dash of sesame oil. Let it sit while you prepare the rest—this helps tenderize the chicken and gives it that velvety texture typical in stir fry dishes.
  2. Blanch the Broccoli: Bring a small pot of water to a boil. Add the broccoli florets and blanch for 1–2 minutes until they turn bright green. Drain and set aside. This keeps the broccoli crisp yet tender when stir-fried.
  3. Stir Fry the Chicken: Heat a tablespoon of vegetable oil in a wok or large frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the garlic and stir until fragrant—just a few seconds. Toss in the marinated chicken and stir-fry until it turns golden and is cooked through, about 4–5 minutes.
  4. Add Broccoli and Sauce: Return the broccoli to the pan. Add the oyster sauce and a splash of water to help everything come together. Stir-fry for another 1–2 minutes until everything is well coated in sauce.
  5. Finish and Serve: Drizzle a bit more sesame oil over the top before serving. Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles for a complete, satisfying meal.

Notes

  • This dish is best served hot and can be paired with rice or noodles.
