Description

Delicious crispy rice treats made with marshmallows and butter, perfect for a sweet snack!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 tablespoons butter (To grease the pan and mix with marshmallows.)
  • 10 oz marshmallows (or 4 cups of mini marshmallows) (Gooey main ingredient, can use flavored marshmallows for a twist.)
  • 6 cups crispy rice cereal (The base of the treats.)
  • Food coloring (Optional, for adding color to the marshmallow mixture.)
  • Sprinkles (Optional, for decoration.)

Instructions

  1. Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan with butter or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Avoid letting it brown.
  3. Once the butter is melted, add the marshmallows and stir continuously until fully melted.
  4. If using food coloring, add a few drops to the melted marshmallows and mix until the desired color is reached.
  5. Remove the pan from heat and stir in the crispy rice cereal until evenly coated.
  6. Transfer the mixture to the greased pan, spreading and pressing it down gently.
  7. If desired, sprinkle with sprinkles before the mixture cools.
  8. Allow to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cutting into squares.
