Description

Delicious and crispy potato stacks topped with melted cheddar cheese and garnished with fresh cilantro.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large russet potatoes
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Thinly slice the russet potatoes (about 1/8 inch thick) using a mandoline or sharp knife.
  3. In a bowl, toss the sliced potatoes with olive oil, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper until evenly coated.
  4. Stack the seasoned potato slices in small towers (5-6 slices high) on the baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove from the oven, sprinkle cheddar cheese over each stack, and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes until melted.
  7. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with sour cream or ranch dressing.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, make sure the potato slices are evenly coated and not overcrowded on the baking sheet.
  • Feel free to adjust the seasoning based on your taste preference.
