Ingredients

- 2 lbs Yukon Gold potatoes (thinly sliced)
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 ½ cups sharp cheddar cheese (shredded)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 4 tbsp butter (for greasing and layering)
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- Fresh herbs (optional, like thyme or rosemary)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with butter.
- Thinly slice the Yukon Gold potatoes to about 1/8 inch thickness.
- In a bowl, whisk together heavy cream, minced garlic, salt, and pepper until combined.
- Layer the sliced potatoes in the prepared dish, pouring some cream mixture over each layer and sprinkling cheese in between.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
- Let it rest for at least 10 minutes before serving.
