Description
Delicious creamy mashed potatoes made with russet or Yukon Gold potatoes, butter, milk, and sour cream.

- 2 pounds russet or Yukon Gold potatoes
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Peel and quarter the potatoes for even cooking.
- Boil the potato chunks in a large pot of salted cold water for 15-20 minutes until fork-tender.
- Drain the potatoes and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve warm with an optional pat of butter on top.
Notes
- For creamier potatoes, use a potato ricer.
- Warm the milk and sour cream before adding to prevent cooling the potatoes.
