Description

A delightful blend of spaghetti, meat, and cheeses baked to perfection.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can Diced tomatoes
  • 1 can Tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 12 ounces Spaghetti noodles
  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 1 large Yellow onion
  • 1 medium Green bell pepper
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 8 ounces Cream cheese
  • 15 ounces Ricotta cheese
  • 3 cups Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon Dried parsley
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Chopped parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Prepare the baking dish by spraying a 9×13-inch pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  3. Combine the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper in a large saucepan over low heat. Allow it to simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Reserve 1 cup of marinara sauce by setting it aside for later use.
  5. Toss the cooked spaghetti into the saucepan with the remaining sauce, and cover to keep warm.
  6. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat, adding onions, green bell pepper, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  7. Drain the grease and add the reserved marinara sauce to the meat mixture.
  8. Mix cream cheese, ricotta, 2 cups of mozzarella, parmesan, basil, parsley, salt, and pepper in a medium bowl.
  9. Layer half of the noodle and marinara mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  10. Spread the creamy cheese mixture over the noodle layer.
  11. Add the rest of the noodle and marinara mixture on top.
  12. Top with the meat sauce mixture and sprinkle the remaining cup of mozzarella cheese.
  13. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  14. Uncover and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until the cheese is melted.

Notes

  • This dish can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before baking.
  • Feel free to add additional vegetables such as mushrooms or zucchini for extra nutrition.
