Description

Delicious chocolate covered pretzels with a caramel coating, perfect for any occasion!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons salted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream, at room temperature
  • 1 bag (16 ounce) salted pretzels
  • 24 ounces milk semi-sweet or dark chocolate, melted
  • to taste flaky sea salt

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment.
  2. In a medium skillet over medium heat, cook the sugar, stirring occasionally, until melted and golden, about 6–8 minutes (it may smoke slightly).
  3. Turn off the heat and whisk in the butter, then the cream.
  4. Return to medium-high heat and cook until very bubbly, about 3 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat.
  6. Using a fork, dip each pretzel in the caramel, letting excess drip off.
  7. Place on a prepared baking sheet and let set, about 5 minutes.
  8. Melt the chocolate.
  9. Dip each pretzel in the chocolate and return to the baking sheet.
  10. Freeze for 10 minutes, until set.
  11. Store in an airtight container in the fridge.

Notes

  • Ensure the caramel is at the right temperature before dipping the pretzels to achieve the best coating.
  • For a decorative touch, sprinkle additional flaky sea salt on top of the dipped pretzels.
